Pet of the Month - August

by the Haley Neal

Say woof to Luna, our August Pet of the Month!

This four-year-old Pit Bull may have had a ruff start in life, but today she’s thriving as the silliest, sweetest, and most spirited pup around!

Luna’s journey to her fur-ever home began when her mom’s coworkers found her as a stray at just about a year old. She was battling heartworms, intestinal worms, and even pyometra—all requiring plenty of love and treatment. After months of healing and adjusting, her true paw-sonality began to shine!

Goofy, affectionate, and incredibly smart, Luna loves to keep both her brain and body busy. Her favorite game? Tug (she’s basically a pro). She also loves scent work games, hikes with snack breaks, sprinkler runs, and showing off her training skills. At home, she entertains herself with flirt poles, tearing up cardboard boxes (dog forbid a girl has a hobby), and quality chew time. Of course, nothing beats couch snuggles with her two older doggy brothers.

From overcoming hardships to becoming the vibrant, adventurous, and loving dog she is today, Luna is a true su-paw-star. We’re head-over-paws excited to celebrate her as our August Pet of the Month!

To show our appreciation for Luna and her pack, we commissioned a portrait just for her! Let us know what you think in the comments below!
